My name is Meghan. I’m a Canadian artist, working in photographic printmaking (silver gelatin and cyanotype process) and encaustic painting.

I am driven by my curiosity of human perception, especially the moments where reality and hypothetical seem to co-exist. This informs my work’s intersections of photography and painting techniques. In the darkroom, I manipulate film photography exposures in the printing process, with suspended mediums and chemical painting.  Outside the darkroom, I work with encaustic (beeswax and damar resin) combined with photographic prints to create unique, tactile images.

This approach reflects our path in life, navigating between predictable structure and interruptions; we have the ability to manipulate our circumstances to some extent, but we’re unable to perfectly replicate a moment once it has passed.
